Our Story

2021.

Mowhawk Mowers began in Brookston, Texas, as a vision from independent businessman Abe Harms, operating out of Norstar Trailers & Truck Beds. What started as a bold idea soon became a family-driven partnership with his sons, Ronnie and Randy, along with trusted business partners Jesko and Lionel Schmitt.

2022.

Following key industry acquisitions, Mowhawk assembled a top-tier team of engineers with over 100 years of combined experience, backed by a seasoned procurement manager. This powerhouse collaboration marked the beginning of development for our flagship lineup — the Commander Series.

FALL 2025.

Following a successful product launch in the initial market, the family partnered with a select group of seasoned industry sales professionals, bringing decades of combined experience to drive expansion into the Southern and Midwest U.S.

OUR FOUNDING

As a member of a ‘Family of Brands’Mowhawk is the latest manufacturing division of Konig Industries. Konig was founded in 2019 and also hosts a manufacturing division named Emperian that specializes in building skid steer attachments including buckets, grapples, and pallet forks.
Norstar a sister company of Konig, was founded in 2012 with similar goals in related industries. Manufacturing began at Norstar with the introduction of truck beds, where many state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques have been employed there since day one.
In 2015 Norstar launched Iron Bull trailers and within five short years, the revolutionary designs and high quality with unmatched value propelled Iron Bull trailers to be among the top five open trailer manufacturers in America and won multiple awards for being the fastest-growing trailer company nationwide.
The Mowhawk journey started over 10 years ago when founder, Abe Harms, began plans for his next endeavor after getting Norstar up and running with his four brothers. After working as a partner at another nationally recognized and ranked trailer manufacturer for over 20 years, Abe decided he wanted to go out on his own.
His love for mechanics, process control, and a keen eye for detail over the last few decades turned some old farmland into a massive 500k+ sq. ft. operation in North East Texas for trailers and truck beds and another 500k+ sq. ft. facility in Mexico. Currently a humble 10,000 sq. ft. plant adjacent to Norstar houses Mowhawk. The Konig brand has also served as a springboard to bring the next generation of Harms, Ronnie, and Randy, into the manufacturing bloodline.
Over the years, Abe and his teams have vastly expanded their manufacturing knowledge and expertise, and it became clear that their skills and dedication could lead to something bigger.
